No vibrations

Even the most unperceivable variations can damage a wine. Furthermore, vibrations disrupt the slow formation of sediment, leaving particles suspended in the wine. Even if young wines are more resilient to these shortcomings, mature wines -- which also tend to be the most valuable -- can be irremediably harmed.
Consequently, a real wine cellar must not disrupt the tranquillity of the wine. To achieve this, the cellar must be equipped with an efficient damping system to protect bottles from vibrations. For ageing wine cellars, it is better to avoid mechanical air circulation systems that are another source of vibrations.
